Denise Posnak

DENISE POSNAK GAFFNEY (Founder and Master Pilates Teacher) has taught private and group Pilates since 2001. Trained in the classical Pilates method under master teachers Romana Krysanowska (Joseph Pilates' protégé), Sari Pace and Janice Dulak, she continues her affiliation with Romana's Pilates. Denise holds an MFA in Dance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, has studied somatic techniques such as the Alexander Technique, The Feldenkrais Method, Laban/Bartenieff Fundamentals and Anusara Yoga, and is certified in pre and post-natal Pilates. Denise has a mindful, personal touch that allows her to cue in to her clients’ unique needs. Her diverse client range includes professional athletes and dancers, pre and post-natal women and those who work in highly demanding and stressful occupations, as well as those who are dealing with injury or chronic illness. She brings her inquisitive and generous nature to each of her interactions. In addition to running her Pialtes business, she has served as a Lecturer of Dance on the faculties of the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana, the University of Georgia Athens and Stephens College and Barnard College.
